The Reference Guides contain detailed guides to support reading, writing, speaking and listening. The reference guides are written in student-friendly language and provide a centralized resource for both students and teachers of key literacy concepts and processes. They are also integrated into the program activities. The Reference Guides are organized into four categories: Concepts & Processes Reference Guides, Literary Elements & Devices Reference Guides, Reading & Research Reference Guides, and Writing Reference Guides. Each guide contains an overview of a literacy concept, a process for understanding or applying the concept, related program materials, and additional resources and tools to help students as they analyze text, engage in discussions, and write. We recommend purchasing 1:1 for students in the classroom for optimization, and at a minimum implementing with several shared copies for the classroom.
